1. AGREEMENT TO OUR TERMS

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Mandate, operated by Bianca Schutz (“we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your use of the website at mandatejobs.com, the emails we send, and any related features (together, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, including by creating an account or signing in, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.

2. OUR SERVICES

Mandate is a free job aggregator for vacancies at the United Nations, other international organizations, and NGOs. We automatically collect publicly posted vacancies from organization career websites, organize them (for example by location, level of experience, and education), and let you browse, filter, and bookmark them. If you create an account, you can also receive daily or weekly email summaries of new listings that match your preferences.

Mandate is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the United Nations or any organization whose listings appear on the Services. We are not a recruiter or employment agency, and we play no part in any hiring decision.

3. JOB LISTINGS AND THIRD-PARTY CONTENT

Job listings come from third-party websites. Listings are processed by automated scripts that may make mistakes. A listing may be incomplete, out of date, wrongly categorized, closed, or removed by the organization after we collected it. Classifications such as experience level, education level, and location are our best estimate and are not provided by the hiring organization.

Always check the original posting on the organization's website before applying. The original posting is the authoritative source for job details, eligibility, and deadlines. We are not responsible for missed deadlines, application outcomes, or decisions you make based on information shown on the Services.

The Services link to third-party websites. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

Organization names and logos belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify the source of each listing. If you represent an organization and would like a listing or logo removed or corrected, please contact us.

4. ACCOUNTS AND SIGN-IN

You can browse listings without an account. To bookmark listings or receive email summaries, you need to sign in with an email link or with Google. When you sign in with Google, your use of Google is also governed by Google's terms.

You agree to provide an email address you own and to keep access to it secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Sign-in links are personal; do not share them. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.

You can delete your account at any time from the preferences page.

5. EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS

If you sign up for email summaries, we will send them at the frequency you choose. We will also send emails needed to run the Services, such as sign-in links. You can change your email preferences or unsubscribe at any time using the link in any summary email or on the preferences page.

6. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree not to:

• use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
• scrape, crawl, or bulk download content from the Services, or use automated tools to access them in a way that places an unreasonable load on our systems;
• attempt to get around rate limits, security features, or access controls, or to access accounts or data that are not yours;
• interfere with or disrupt the Services, including by introducing malware or sending excessive requests;
• create accounts using email addresses you do not own, or in bulk;
• submit feedback that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, spam, or that infringes anyone else's rights;
• resell, republish, or commercially exploit the Services or their content without our written permission; or
• misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or organization.

7. FEEDBACK AND SUBMISSIONS

We welcome feedback about the Services and about listing data. Feedback you submit through the Services is posted as an issue in our GitHub repository so we can track it and may be publicly visible, so do not include personal or confidential information in it.

By submitting feedback, you allow us to use it to improve the Services without any obligation or payment to you.

8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Mandate name, logo, and the design of the Services belong to us. The Mandate source code is made available under the license published in our GitHub repository, and your use of that code is governed by that license. These Terms do not grant you any other rights in our name, logo, or branding.

Job listing content belongs to the organizations that posted it.

9. PRIVACY

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your personal information. By using the Services, you acknowledge that we will process your information as described there.

10. AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES TO THE SERVICES

The Services are provided free of charge. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, including which organizations we collect listings from, without notice. We do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

11. TERMINATION

You can stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access to the Services, or delete your account, if you break these Terms or if we reasonably believe it is needed to protect the Services or other users. Sections 3, 7, 8, and 12 through 16 continue to apply after your access ends.

12. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any listing is accurate, complete, current, or still open, or that using the Services will result in any job, interview, or other outcome.

13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of opportunity, data, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Services, even if we have been told such damages are possible. Our total liability for any claim related to the Services will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties or liabilities to be excluded or limited, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under law that cannot be waived.

14. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.

15. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be shown by a new “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we may also notify you by posting a notice on the Services or by email. If you keep using the Services after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

16. MISCELLANEOUS

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a transfer of the Services.
